The Dresden State Opera’s performance of Firebrand of Florence revives a classic work composed by the great Kurt Weill during his period of American exile.

Kurt Weill’s Firebrand of Florence turned Broadway conventions on their head. The work embodied a bold new approach at once intelligent, graceful, rhythmically audacious, and melodically memorable.
