Tchaikovsky in Roma, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia
Over het evenement
The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia presents a summer festival dedicated to Tchaikovsky.
These three concerts offer an opportunity to be lulled by the music of one of the most lyrical late Romantic composers. The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty are three masterpieces of classical ballet by Tchaikovsky, who unknowingly revolutionized the genre. The fairy‐tale world of the ballets, where everything is possible, stands in contrast to Tchaikovsky's complex and emotionally difficult life.
In his ballets, Tchaikovsky's music creates the dramatic framework that characterizes the whole narrative. To round out the concert programs, the orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's piano and violin concertos.
