Baroque expert Pieter Jan Leusink has assembled a program of music fit for royalty in this concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Händel's 'Water Music' and arias by Händel and Purcell will be heard in all their festive glory.
Händel's 'Water Music' was first performed for King George I and his entourage during an outing on the Thames River. The royal audience was so pleased with the music, that the musicians were called upon to play it three times.
