Mariss Jansons conducts Mahler 4: Concertgebouw

Over het evenement

Experience two titans of the concert hall: Mahler and Strauss (Four if you count Jansons and the Concertgebouw Orchestra!)

Strauss' suite "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" was originally incindental music to a play by his frequent collaborator Hugo von Hoffmanstal.

Mahler's Fourth Symphony, lasting around an hour, is one of his shortest, and often considered one of his lightest in nature: the sleighbells at the opening can't help but put one in the Christmas mood.

Mariss Jansons has been Chief Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2004, and the 2014‐15 season will be his last in the post.
