Lomelí, Brauner & CNSO: Prague Proms Festival
Over het evenement
Mexican tenor David Lomelí’s performances have garnered tremendous critical acclaim with Zachary Woolfe of The New York Times calling his New York City Opera performances of Nemorino “a terrific debut,” The Independent’s Edward Seckerson praising his “bright vibrant top and bags of conviction” in his Glyndebourne Festival debut performances as Rodolfo in La Bohème, and Operasora announcing him an “up‐coming tenor star” after performances as the Duke in Rigoletto with Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Lomeli will be joined by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra for a program of works by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Rossini, Bizet, Offenbach, Cardillo, De Curtis, Torroba, Solozábal, Gardel, Moral and Lara under the baton of Tomáš Brauner at the Municipal House in Prague.
The international opera community first took notice of David Lomelí in 2006 when the young tenor – then only 25 years old – scored a stunning double victory in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia competition. At that time, David was the only singer to ever win a first place prize in both the opera and zarzuela divisions. Since then, the rich‐voiced young Mexican tenor has built a growing reputation in opera houses and concert halls across North America and Europe.
The Prague Proms is an international music festival that presents music perfectly suited to the summer months: music that refreshes you, no matter the weather. Enjoy jazz concerts, symphony programmes and intimate chamber music evenings.
