Be among the spectators for a musical duel in the Aula Magna of the Università La Sapienza. The aristocratic instruments of the Ancien Régime (viola da gamba and lute) take on the modern invader, the cello, in this comic text written on the 1740 by Parisian lawyer Hubert Le Blanc.
Music by Geminiani, Marais, Forqueray, and Vivaldi alternates with readings (in Italian) from the brilliantly entertaining text.
