La Bohème at Chateau de Fontainebleau: Opéra en plein air

Experience opera under the stars, when the Opéra en Plein Air Festival presents Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème. This year's production is staged by the renowned French writer, thinker, and politician, Jacques Attali, with a sets and costumes by the world‐famous comic‐book artist, Enki Bilal.
Based on a novel published in 1851 by Henri Murger, La Bohème portrays four young artists living happily despite their financial problems, a lifestyle well‐known to Puccini himself and celebrated here in a humanistic and passionate melodrama.
Location
An established UNESCO World Heritage Site, the spectacular Château de Fontainebleau has played an important role in French history for over eight hundred years. The royal residence under several kings, it was favored by Napoleon the First.
