Krystian Zimerman is, in many ways, a perfectly unique pianist. His extraordinary technique, his sense of the unusual, his very personal rapport with the piano (he travels with his own instrument); his concentration, his demands of himself and of his public…all these characteristics leave no trace of the banal and no doubt that Zimerman’s is an uncommon musical personality.

While a Zimerman recital leaves a very specific (and even slightly intimidating) impression, the artist is also a free and flexible one; his fusion with the music gives us a sense of the colors, the risks, the Dionysian incandescence of this novel and exciting spirit.
