Katia & Marielle Labèque: Dresdner Musikfestspiele
Over het evenement
»Les enfants terribles« for two pianos is a new chapter in the special relationship between the legendary composer Philip Glass and the pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque. The piece can be considered the sequel of Glass’ Double Concerto for Piano, which he wrote for the two sisters in 2015.
This is flanked by the world premiere of a new work by the Japanese‐Peruvian composer Pauchi Sasaki. This premiere will be performed by the twin sisters Clara and Marie Becker, a rising young piano duo. Before these two works of contemporary voices, Claude Debussy’s »Six épigraphes antiques« and Franz Schubert’s Fantasy in F‐minor, both for four‐hand piano, are heard – music by the avant‐garde of the romantic era.
