Israel Galván, Flamenco: Budapest Spring Festival
Over het evenement
Israel Galván is one of today’s most significant flamenco dancers and choreographers and performing his show "The Golden Age" (La edad de oro) at the Budapest Spring Festival.
Born into a family of renowned dancers from Seville, he spent his childhood surrounded by Spanish folk music and flamenco, already performing in his father’s group at the age of five, and later becoming a dancer of Mario Maya. At a very young age, he started collecting the most important rewards of flamenco dance. He has developed a particularly intensive style, which is stripped of all formalities, sometimes dispensing with even the musical accompaniment. He presented The Golden Age (La edad de oro) in 2005, and the choreography won that year’s Flamenco Hoy Award for Best Dance Show. He has danced it more than a hundred times since then, mesmerizing audiences the world over.
