The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra's musicians Ren Jianliang and Qin Jitao, who hail from the ancient capital of Xi’an, will demonstrate the ethereal sound quality of the Chinese wind instrument, the guan.

The programme of this concert includes some of the representative repertoire of suona and guan, such as Beating Dates, Herding Donkeys, Nostalgia for the Central Plains, The Dream of Loulan, the guan quartet by the Artistic Adviser of this concert, Lo Wai‐leung, Harmony of Four, and The Sound of Water Echoing in a Valley by the Chinese‐American composer, Zhou Long.
