Relish Mendelssohn played on period instruments, under the inspired leadership of Raphaël Pichon.
Joined by a starry group of soloists including Sabine Devieilhe and Stéphane Degout, Pichon returns to the 'classical romantic'. Mendelssohn's childhood was profoundly influenced by Bach, and it is that influence that is most evident in this oratorio.
