Wolf Wondratschek recounts the fascinating story of the cello, complemented by Chistian Poltéra brilliantly playing the »Mara« cello itself, accompanied by the young Taiwanese pianist Hu Jung.
The adventurous story of a cello, as told by the instrument itself: it travelled around the world several times, playing for kings and ordinary citizens in cathedrals, palaces and modern concert halls. Named for the infamous virtuoso Mara, whose escapades enthralled the 18th century public, it looks back on 300 years of eventful history.
