In this first concert of its complete cycle of Brahms's symphonies and concertos,the Gewandhaus Orchestra begins with the last of the master's grand concertos: the Double Concerto for Violin and Cello.

Played in this performance by the Greek virtuoso Leonidas Kavakos and Italian cellist Enrico Dindo (winner of the Rostropovich Competition), the concerto will be followed by Chailly's interpretation of the hallowed pages of Brahms's First Symphony.
