Enjoy Alban Berg's great opera "Wozzeck", this season at the magnificient Teatro Real in Madrid.
Based on a play by Georg Buchner. For the first time in the history of Opera, a proletarian becomes the protagonist. Alban Berg immortalized this anti‐hero turning him into a symbol of the oppression of man by man. All this in the twilight of a world like ours, that turns convulsively in a new era.
This production is the debut at El Real of innovative stage director Christoph Marthaler, accompanied by the musical direction by Sylvain Cambreling.
