Our 3hr Shell Key Shelling Trip is offered from Hubbard’s Marina inside Johns Pass and offers around one hour on the island exploring and shelling with around an hour ride down the back protected bay waters on a relaxing, safe, and fun trip onboard the HUB Cat 49. On the ride back to Johns Pass, we will cruise up our beautiful gulf beaches when weather allows, if it’s a little bumpy the ride back will also be in the back protected bay waters. Your tour begins at North Straub Park with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. A helmet and safety equipment, plus bottled water and an audio headset are provided. With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road. On this 2‐hour Segway tour around St Petersburg, cruise along Bay Shore Drive next to Tampa Bay, past Victorian‐style homes to the downtown area. Learn about the history and culture of the Tocobaga Indians, who lived in small villages at the northern end of Tampa Bay from the year 900 to the 1500s. It is believed that their princess was the inspiration for Disney’s story of Pocahontas. Then visit the spot where the world’s first commercial flight took off — the St Petersburg‐Tampa Airboat Line on January 1, 1914. See pictures of the pilot, Tony Jannus, as well as the aircraft he used on that first flight. Continue down to St Petersburg Pier, a landmark and tourist spot that extends into Tampa Bay. Learn about its development and importance to the city and check out the once‐endangered brown pelicans mixing with the locals and diving into the water for food. Finally, return to North Straub Park to conclude the tour.

So this tour begins at the Tampa Bay seawall at North Straub Park with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. Additionally, all passengers must weight between 100 and 300 pounds to participate. A helmet and safety equipment, plus bottled water and an audio headset are provided. With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road. On this Segway tour around St. Petersburg, cruise through the Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum, where there are more than 500 palms and cycads representing some 150 species from around the world. Stop along the bay to learn about and watch manatees in their natural habitat. Visit the Sunken Gardens, a botanical paradise in the midst of the hustle of the city and St. Petersburg's oldest living museum. This four‐acre, 100‐year‐old garden is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region—over 500 species of tropical and subtropical plants amidst pools and cascading waterfalls. There are more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers in all. Finally, return to North Straub Park to conclude the tour.
