Orange, France Oranje
Orange is een stad en gemeente in het departement Vaucluse, in het zuiden van Frankrijk. Het is de warmste stad van Frankrijk, als de gemiddelde temperatuur in aanmerking wordt genomen.
De stad staat bekend om zijn Romeinse architectuur en het Romeinse theater wordt beschreven als het meest indrukwekkende in Europa, en misschien wel in het Romeinse Rijk als geheel. De mooie Triomfboog van Oranje zou vaak dateren uit de tijd van Augustus of Tiberius, maar is waarschijnlijk veel later, misschien wel Severan.[1] De boog, het theater en de omgeving werden in 1981 door UNESCO op de werelderfgoedlijst geplaatst.
