Na twee decennia keert dirigent Marko Letonja terug naar het Auditorium met een programma dat twee belangrijke elementen van symfonische muziek met elkaar verweeft: Beethovens Vierde symfonie, rijk aan heroïsche idealen, en de dramatische flair van Strauss. Op het programma staan twee meesterwerken van de illustere Oostenrijkse componist: de Suite uit Die Frau ohne Schatten, een hoogtepunt van zijn samenwerking met Hugo von Hofmannsthal, en de Vier letzte Lieder. Strauss' diepzinnige en vurige afscheid vangt zijn laatste buiging uit de muziekwereld en toont zijn uitzonderlijke talent om diepgaande menselijke emoties over te brengen.

Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
