Het einde is slechts een nieuw begin. Net als bij andere componisten, zoals Bruckner met zijn Negende of Schubert met zijn Tiende, bleef Mahlers Tiende symfonie onvoltooid na zijn plotselinge dood in 1911. Dit dramatische werk weerspiegelt de intense worstelingen waarmee Mahler tijdens zijn laatste dagen te maken had, maar het is alleen bewaard gebleven als een verzameling schetsen. Yoel Gamzou gaat moedig de uitdaging aan om dit onvoltooide meesterwerk te reconstrueren, in de voetsporen van beroemde figuren als Deryck Cooke en Rudolf Barshai. Hij brengt het op meesterlijke wijze tot leven in het Auditorium in Milaan.

| Orkest: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
