Er staat een gedenkwaardige avond vol orkestmuziek op het programma in het Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo, waar het programma een reis maakt van romantisch drama naar de verfijnde klankkleuren van de twintigste eeuw. Het concert brengt drie contrasterende meesterwerken samen, die zowel nieuwsgierige bezoekers als toegewijde muziekliefhebbers zullen aanspreken. Pjotr Iljitsj Tsjaikovski’s Vijfde symfonie in e mineur, op. 64, bruist van meeslepende melodieën, emotionele intensiteit en een van de meest herkenbare reizen in het repertoire: van wanhoop naar triomf. Krzysztof Penderecki’s Drie stukken in oude stijl zorgen voor een levendige stemmingswisseling, waarbij hedendaags vakmanschap wordt vermengd met echo’s van renaissance‐ en barokmuziek. Het programma wordt afgesloten met Frédéric Chopins Pianoconcert nr. 2 in F mineur, op. 21, een stuk vol lyrische elegantie en intieme virtuositeit.

| Piano: | Rafal Blechacz Rafal Blechacz werd geboren in 1985 in Nakło nad Notecią, Polen. Hij begon zijn pianolessen op vijfjarige leeftijd. Hij vervolgde zijn piano‐opleiding aan de Artur Rubinstein State School of Music in Bydgoszcz. In mei 2007 studeerde hij af aan de Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, in de pianoklas van professor Katarzyna Popowa‐Zydroń.

| Orkest: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
