Voor een avond vol orkestrale pracht in Milaan kunt u terecht in het Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo, waar twee meesters van het symfonische repertoire elkaar ontmoeten. Onder leiding van Marek Janowski voert het programma u mee van Ludwig van Beethovens Eerste symfonie in C majeur, op. 21, naar Johannes Brahms’ Tweede symfonie in D majeur, op. 73. Deze boeiende combinatie tekent een muzikale reis uit: Beethovens jeugdige partituur combineert klassieke elegantie met een vleugje van de gedurfde stem die het genre zou hervormen. Brahms’ Tweede symfonie onthult daarentegen pastorale warmte, lyrische diepgang en een rijk geschakeerde orkestratie.
