Edinburgh
De hoofdstad van Schotland is lange tijd het centrum geweest van onderwijs, literatuur en wetenschap. Het is vooral beroemd vanwege het Edinburgh International Festival en 's werelds grootste jaarlijkse internationale kunstfestival 'Fringe'. De oude binnenstad van Edinburgh staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van de UNESCO en de vele historische en culturele bezienswaardigheden maken de stad tot een van de populairste toeristische bestemmingen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
