Bajardo
Bajardo is een dorp met ongeveer 350 inwoners, het ligt in de provincie Imperia, in de Italiaanse regio Ligurië. Het dorp ligt in de Ligurische Maritieme Alpen op 900 m boven de zeespiegel en strekt zich uit over 24.000 hectare, waarvan de meeste bedekt zijn met olijfgaarden. Het resterende gebied is braakliggende grond, waar nu bloemen worden geteeld, en dan zijn er nog wijngaarden, kastanjebomen en bossen.
Een uitgestrekt dennenbos in het Armeadal wordt door de EU erkend als biotoop. De historische dorpskern werd gesticht in het eerste millennium voor Christus en heeft tot op de dag van vandaag zijn typische Ligurische landelijke architectuur behouden.
De hier geproduceerde olijfolie is altijd al bekend geweest om zijn buitengewone kwaliteit en fijne smaak. Veel van deze olijfgaarden worden echter niet meer gecultiveerd. Vanwege het bijzondere microklimaat is Bajardo de plaats met de hoogste olijfgaarden van Europa.
Het gebied heeft te lijden onder de sterke ontvolking, die de laatste jaren aanhield, hoewel er een grote inspanning werd geleverd om de ontvolking tegen te gaan.
Het dorp ligt op de zonnigste plek van Ligurië en heeft optimale klimatologische kenmerken, omdat hier twee verschillende klimaatzones samenkomen, het typische mediterrane klimaat en het alpiene klimaat, die een bijzonder microklimaat creëren.

Half‐Day El Yunque Rainforest Tour from Fajardo

We will hike an off the beaten path trail for 25‐40. At this path there are plenty of exotic plants and birds to see. We will then proceed to another 5‐10 hike to a natural pool with a 20 feet natural WATERSLIDE and with an optional 3 feet high jump from a rock. For this tour, guests must have their own rental car.
