Listen to a concert of a lively young orchestra in the unique ambience of Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral, THE landmark of Vienna!

The University of Kinki was founded in Osaka in 1925. With over 50,000 students and 13 faculties, it is one of the most famous universities in Japan. The Kindai High School, which belongs to the University of Kinki, was founded in 1939. Here, 3,000 students can pursue their dream and practice both sports and music. The repertoire includes works for wind orchestra as well as arranged orchestral pieces as well as jazz and pop music, as the orchestra deals with and wants to express itself with different musical styles and instruments.

The young orchestra travels from Japan with full anticipation for the very special concert in St. Stephen's Cathedral.

Yasuo Kotani completed his studies for percussion instruments at the Osaka College of Music. He won 3rd place at the 1st Japanese competition for wind and percussion instruments and successfully passed the audition for European music at NHK (Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai — Japanese Radio Symphony Orchestra). As a soloist he has performed with many orchestras and ensembles and enjoys a good reputation with the audience. As conductor, Professor Kotani has been responsible for conducting the wind orchestra of Kindai University High School since December 2006.
