Cinema Paris brings the Bolshoi Theatre Ballet to Berlin with a live screening of the famed Russian company’s performance of a contemporary masterpiece: Alexei Ratmansky’s Lost Illusions, a brilliant contemporary interpretation of Balzac’s riveting tale of ambition, thwarted love, and cruel disillusionment in nineteenth century Paris.

First performed in Moscow in 2011, Lost Illusions pairs stunning neoclassical choreography with a score by critically acclaimed Russian composer Leonid Desyatnikov and dramaturgical support from renowned theatre man Guillaume Gallienne. A winningly Gallic narrative, this is a story full of melodrama and intrigue perfectly suited to the talents of the world’s leading ballet company.
