Anne‐Sophie Mutter & Kammerorchester Wien‐Berlin

A propos du spectacle

World renowned violinist Anne‐Sophie Mutter will perform works by Mozart and Rihm with the Kammerorchester Wien‐Berlin under the baton of Michael Francis.

In 2011, Anne‐Sophie Mutter celebrated the 35th anniversary of her first public concert. She has registered more than 50 albums. The first of these – with the Berlin Philharmonic under Karajan in 1978 – contained the same two Mozart concertos to be heard at this concert. A violin concerto by Wolfgang Rihm was also inspired by Mutter. At her request, the work was written for a Mozart orchestra with the express aim of having it performed alongside works by Mozart.

The career of the conductor Michael Francis, who held the baton at the world première, began in 2006 when he stepped up to the podium from his position as a double bass player in the London Symphony Orchestra.
