Le conte populaire russe de Petrouchka, une marionnette animée par un souffle de vitalité et d'émotions, s'entremêle avec Siegfried de Wagner et L'arbre des songes, le concerto pour violon et orchestre d'Henri Dutilleux dédié à Isaac Stern, interprété par le talentueux violoniste suisse Sebastian Bohren. Le concerto de Dutilleux, composé en 1985, fusionne davantage le soliste avec l'environnement orchestral, tandis que Waldweben de Wagner évoque la forêt enchantée où Siegfried se réfugie dans le deuxième acte de l'opéra. La grande expérience de Jac van Steen guidera le public à travers ce voyage onirique.
