La merveilleuse Shéhérazade de Rimski‐Korsakov, dont les premiers accords sont joués par Luca Santaniello, premier violon de l'Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, nous transporte dans des contrées exotiques pour explorer, à travers nos sens et nos émotions, l'histoire d'une femme qui a captivé un sultan avec ses contes des Mille et Une Nuits. Dans ce programme, le talent polyvalent du pianiste et chef d'orchestre Sunwook Kim met en valeur ce chef‐d'œuvre aux côtés d'un sommet du répertoire pianistique : le Quatrième Concerto pour piano et orchestre de Beethoven, où, pour la première fois dans l'histoire, le piano interrompt le silence initial, précédant l'introduction orchestrale traditionnelle.

Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
