La soirée met à l’honneur deux œuvres dont les auteurs s’inspirent du travail de leurs confrères : David Lang, qui s’appuie sur un nombre indéterminé et non précisé de compositeurs qui, selon lui, s’efforcent sans cesse de mettre en avant leur propre grandeur à travers leurs œuvres ; et John Adams, qui — après sa « Chamber Symphony » de 1992 — s’inspire pour la deuxième fois d’Arnold Schoenberg. Schoenberg est en effet la grande référence en matière de symphonie de chambre.

| Orchestre: | unitedberlin The unitedberlin ensemble was founded in 1989 with the symbolic purpose of reconnecting classical musicians in a city long divided by the Cold War. Since its inception the ensemble has been transcending barriers not just musically but also geographically. Performances at festivals for contemporary music in Albania, Brazil, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Russia, China, South Korea, Spain and Switzerland have accompanied the activities in Berlin. |
