Micrologus

Ensemble

Distinguished Italian Early Music ensemble Micrologus is mostly specialised in the Medieval music. The ensemble was formed 21 years ago in Umbria. Now it is famous for its’ well prepared programmes and spirited performance.
Micrologus has given concerts at many festivals and concert halls such as at the Kontzerthaus in Vienna, Cité de la Musique in Paris, festivals in Montpellier, Barcelona, Lisbon, Ravenna, Mexico, etc. In 2004 it was chosen to be the residence ensemble at the Flanders festival in Urbino and in the same year they also debuted at the South Bank in London.
Micrologus has won awards for recording for such record labels as Opus 111, Nalye and Zig‐Zag Territoires. Le Jeu de Robin et Marion, its’ programme of Adam de la Halle’s music, won the prestigious Choc du mois Award in 2005. Micrologus has recorded much film music, including music for the movie Mediterraneo by Gabriele Salvatores that won the Academy Award in 1991.
“Venite amanti a la Liēadra festa” – poetry, entertainment, dance music from the era of Boccaccio that was popular in the Central and Northern‐Italy in the 14th century, includes ballads, madrigals, saltarellos. The programme recorded for Opus 111 in 1994 received the significant Diapason d’Or de l’Année Award in 1995.
