En el espléndido marco de la Iglesia Anglicana de San Jorge de Venecia, el Ensemble MandolinVenice propone un viaje musical a través de la historia de la música clásica italiana, de Vivaldi a Rossini, interpretada por el evocador sonido de las mandolinas. El concierto presentará piezas originales para este conjunto, así como transcripciones de autor que trazarán una trayectoria ideal para descubrir las melodías más sublimes jamás escritas para este instrumento, en una experiencia que promete llegar al corazón y al alma.

This small ensemble was a real find and a great evening entertainment while we were holidaying in Venice. The group ranges in number from a quartet to an octet and all are consummate musicians playing mandolin, mandolin and guitar. The intimate setting meant that we could follow every instrument withe clarity. The control of dynamics especially at pp gave a wonderful delicacy and the tasteful use of rubato breathed life into the music. The nicely varied repertoire was mostly from the romantic era, where the mandolin attained its truly unique voice. We appreciated the insightful commentary which was also kindly translated into English for us. I took my two children to this concert and was not sure how they would react but both loved it! I was disappointed that more people did not attend this concert since this ensemble really deserves more recognition. In summary we had a wonderful experience and I bought the CD. I came away with a new appreciation of the instrument. When played this well it is every bit as expressive as the violin. Robert, Bronte & William, Jersey UK
