The Tonkünstler and Music Director Andrés Orozco‐Estrada begin the new concert season with a clear signal. Characterized by innovation and history, the Tonkünstler’s main motivating forces, 'Upbeat' has become a tradition.

The orchestra will premiere Vier Skizzen für Orchester (Four Sketches for Orchestra) by Friedrich Cerha, the dean of Austrian music and recipient of the 2012 Ernst von Siemens Music Award. Ravel's moving Piano Concerto in G Major and the colorful, stimulating Symphonie fantastique of Berlioz provide the framework for a festive season opening.
