Closing Concert: Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra

Sobre el espectáculo

The Lithuanian National Philharmonic concert season closes with an impressive concert featuring the orchestra, Maestro Juozas Domarkas and violinist Vadim Gluzman, representing Russia and Great Britain.

The concert programme is tailored around two anniversaries. German composer Richard Strauss’ 150th birth anniversary is observed with the symphonic poem 'Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche', and Lithuanian Balys Dvarionas’ 110th anniversary – his Concerto for violin and orchestra. The programme also includes Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony, Pathétique, composed in 1893. After a long period of deep depression, the composer was overtaken by creative heat, and he wrote about his work: 'I put my whole soul into this symphony… I believe it is the best of my works.'

The Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society welcomes music lovers to a variety of wonderful orchestral and chamber music concerts in Vilnius.
