La tradición británica de composición cuenta con una rica y ilustre historia, que ha evolucionado hasta convertirse en una escuela musical excepcional con figuras como Purcell, Gibbons y el «adoptado» Handel. Desde las influencias eduardianas del hábil Elgar, cuyas Variaciones Enigma de 1899 consolidaron su renombre como apreciado compositor inglés, hasta William Walton, conocido por su brillante y entretenida Façade Suite, y Ethel Smyth, cuyo Concierto para la singular combinación de trompa y violín representa una de sus últimas obras. Nos acompaña en este viaje a través del Canal de la Mancha Anna Rakitina, directora de orquesta y galardonada con el prestigioso Premio Europeo de Cultura 2025.

| Orquesta: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world. La Verdi welcomes a starry roster of soloists and guest conductors over the course of an extensive and varied annual season, and regularly features as guests of honour at important state occasions and international concert engagements. |
