Catherine Klipfel (Piano) / Nina Reddig (Violon) / Emanuel Wehse (Violoncelle)
The three musicians in the Morgenstern Trio joined forces in 2005 at the Folkwang Academy in Essen. As a result of an intensive collaboration the Trio was honored in 2007 with three important prizes:
First prize at the International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna Concerthouse.
Second prize in the renowed 5th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (only 10 piano trios worlwide were invited).
Second prize and Audience Prize in the most important ADR Musikwettbewerb Munich.
The Morgenstern Trio received significant artistic input from Vladimir Mendelssohn as well as through work with Menahem Pressler, Vesselin Parashkevov and Dirk Mommertz.
As of 2008 they will begin enhancing their education with the Alban Berg Quartet in Cologne. The first CD is released with works by Beethoven and Brahms in 2008.
