Jacek Kaspszyk conducts an uplifting all‐Beethoven program, which reveals the context in which the great 'Ode to Joy' was written.

Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy in this program of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra offers the music‐historical background for his Ninth 'Choral' Symphony in the second half of the program. The two works share the same musical and textual themes and even a corresponding structure.
