Tosca

O wydarzeniu

The Oper Leipzig will present a new production of Giacomo Puccini's beloved opera "Tosca" directed by Michiel Dijkema and conducted by Anthony Bramall.

In his opera, Puccini depicts a city in which spiritual and secular powers meet: a papal state and police state in late 18th century Rome. The church St. Andrea della Valle, the Palazzo Farnese and the Castel Sant' Angelo are venues which have shaped the face of the city as it is known today and set the stage for Puccini's melodramatic opera.

Puccini inspires his audience to sympathise with the opera diva, Tosca, whose love for Cavaradossi is doomed due to the political situation — a storyline made for the big stage.

The opera in three acts will be performed in Italian with German surtitles.
