Step back into history and experience the grandeur of piano music at the beautiful Philharmonie Berlin in Berlin.
Three pianists from the classical, jazz and tango styles take turns to show their skills in very different episodes: as soloists, in interplay with other musicians and singers and in a dialogue of piano and dance. In the last piece of the evening, the three musicians play a six‐hand medley of the three different styles, thus bringing the concert to a fitting conclusion.
The programme is extremely varied and includes among others a Brahms Sonata for piano and violoncello, works by Astor Piazzolla, Duke Ellington, Camille Saint‐Saëns, a minor waltz by Frédéric Chopin danced with free elements, improvised jam sessions by the swing pianist with the jazz singer, Latin American rhythms by the tango trio, sensual dancing by the tango dance couple and pure joie de vivre by the swing dancers as well as the three pianists' own compositions.
