Orchestre de Toulouse at the Konzerthaus

O wydarzeniu

Tugan Sokhiev conducts the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, featuring pianist Nelson Freire.

Hector Berlioz, widely considered the 'Founder' of Program Music and perhaps even more significantly as the father of modern orchestration.  Strauss, Liszt and Bruckner are just a handful of those whose orchestrations reflect Berlioz innovations in the field.

Saint‐Saëns is probably still best known as the composer of The Carnival of the Animals.  However, his stunning second concerto for piano and orchestra remains to this day one of the most admired virtuoso displays in the repertoire.

Sergei Rachmaninoff was one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, the last great representative of Russian late Romanticism in classical music.  Symphonic Dances is perhaps, after his notoriously difficult piano concertos, his best known work.

Enjoy the music of Rachmanninow, Saint‐Saens and Berlioz with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse.
