One Charming Night, A Musical Pasticcio: Third Shanghai Baroque Festival

For the third consecutive year, David Stern and his orchestra Opera Fuoco are invited to the Shanghai Symphony Hall for the opening concert of the Shanghai Baroque Festival, this year sharing the stage with one of the most exceptional countertenors of our time, Andreas Scholl.

Enjoy an evening of early music performed by excellent musicians. The program features Henry Purcell's Fairy Queen, a five‐act semi‐opera adapted from William Shakespeare’s wedding comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and one of the composer’s masterpieces, along with Bach's Geschwinde, ihr wirbelnden Winde.
