Mozart, Brahms, Shostakovich: Tonkünstler

O wydarzeniu

The Principal Conductor of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, Andrey Boreyko, collaborates closely with outstanding orchestras in Europe and North America. His first collaboration with the Tonkünstler Orchestra is a veritably "classic" subscription programme presenting well‐known and possibly not so well‐known pieces.

Johannes Brahms’ violin concerto featuring Norwegian soloist Vilde Frang – who was awarded the 2013 Echo Klassik prize – is followed by the last symphony composed by Mozart in Salzburg, i.e. K 338. Dmitri Shostakovich’s Ninth is the last of his three "War Symphonies": the work was originally intended as a musical celebration of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany but, in the end, it broke with the audience’s expectations.
