Lars Vogt: Bach's Goldberg Variations & Schubert's Impromptus at L'auditori de Barcelona

O wydarzeniu

Lars Vogt, one of the most talented and internationally‐acclaimed pianists, invites us to a ‎concert with two essential works from the keyboard repertoire. The first is the famous ‎‎Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach that he recorded in 2015 for the ‎Ondine label. This work by Bach is far‐ranging in the compendium of emotions and ‎sentiments it embraces, and endless in the possibilities for interpretation that it presents. ‎Each performer illuminates different aspects of its architecture and reveals to us, with their ‎own personal sensitivity, the possible meanings of the expressive microcosms that Bach ‎embodied in his music. The second recital brings us the delightful Impromptus, ‎op. 90, by Franz Schubert. Contrary to what the name suggests, Schubert’s Impromptus are ‎works with a strong, formal structure, far from displaying any improvised character. In them, ‎the composer demonstrates his mastery of form, whilst also introducing us to a unique ‎emotional environment: by putting aside the great certainties he allows us to simultaneously ‎embrace opposing truths: a universe where everything is possible.‎
