Lars Vogt: Bach's Goldberg Variations & Schubert's Impromptus at L'auditori de Barcelona
O wydarzeniu
Lars Vogt, one of the most talented and internationally‐acclaimed pianists, invites us to a concert with two essential works from the keyboard repertoire. The first is the famous Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach that he recorded in 2015 for the Ondine label. This work by Bach is far‐ranging in the compendium of emotions and sentiments it embraces, and endless in the possibilities for interpretation that it presents. Each performer illuminates different aspects of its architecture and reveals to us, with their own personal sensitivity, the possible meanings of the expressive microcosms that Bach embodied in his music. The second recital brings us the delightful Impromptus, op. 90, by Franz Schubert. Contrary to what the name suggests, Schubert’s Impromptus are works with a strong, formal structure, far from displaying any improvised character. In them, the composer demonstrates his mastery of form, whilst also introducing us to a unique emotional environment: by putting aside the great certainties he allows us to simultaneously embrace opposing truths: a universe where everything is possible.
