Armonico Tributo Austria performs a concert of Henry Purcell's music, conducted by Lorenz Duftschmid, with soloist Gerlinde Sämann.

The Golden Age of English music was streaked with civil war, murder and manslaughter. Only through music did hope and peace manage to stay alive, until the "Fairest Isle" blossomed again during the Restoration and the Glorious Revolution.

Lorenz Duftschmid portrays an entire epoch – based around the central figure of Henry Purcell, who was born 350 years ago.
