E.S.T. Symphony: Tonkünstler

The Swedish arranger and conductor Hans Ek created the "E.S.T. Symphony" from original pieces, which the jazz trio will present together with the Tonkünstler as part of the Plugged‐In series.

"We are a pop band playing Jazz", Esbjörn Svensson once said in an interview. This is how the founder of the legendary jazz trio e.s.t., who died in an accident in 2008, put the formation’s claim to fame in a nutshell, which they have been committed to for over 20 years: a relaxed enjoyment of making music together coupled with ingenious arrangements that combine stylistic elements from other music genres. A recipe that catapulted the three musicians to the top.
