Emöke Barath: Belcanto

O wydarzeniu

Experience the famous soprano Emöke Barath together with the ensemble Il Pomo d´Oro under the baton of Francesco Corti in the beautiful Salle Gaveau in Paris.

The belcanto was born in Italy during the Baroque period. Venice was one of its cradles: Barbara Strozzi or Antonio Cesti brilliantly evolved the heritage of Monteverdi and Cavalli. In the following century, it was a German, Händel, who established himself as the greatest champion of Italian music. His cantata Lucrezia demonstrates his innate understanding of beautiful singing and theatricality. The intoxicating beauty of the timbre and the virtuosity deployed, Emőke Baráth is the ideal interpreter of these prodigious beauties.
