Verdi's Attila at Sydney Opera House

O wydarzeniu

Experience opera like never before in this astonishing performance of Attila by Verdi at Sydney's remarkable Sydney Opera House.

The king of the Huns meets his adversary.
No one can oppose Attila and his hordes until a female warrior turns his head. By opening his heart to his captive Odabella, the barbarian king reveals his weakness.

The stage is set for one of the great revenge operas of the 19th century: an early Verdi in the Aida vein.

In the prelude, a somber cello draws you into the seriousness and frenzy of war. Verdi's score is full of darkness, rhythm and life, demonstrating the composer's gift for creating emotion.

This co‐production with La Scala was a huge success when it premiered in Milan. It is a 'great spectacle' (Financial Times), with four living characters, two living horses and many crowd scenes.

Director Davide Livermore mixes video projections and colossal sets to create an impressive world for Attila.

Taras Berezhansky embodies Attila. Natalie Aroyan is Odabella with Diego Torre as Foresto, Odabella's lover. Mario Cassi interprets the Roman general Ezio.

A CO‐PRODUCTION BETWEEN OPERA AUSTRALIA AND TEATRO ALLA SCALA.

Sung in Italian with English surtitles
