Turandot na Festiwalu Operowym Arena di Verona 2026

Zachowajcie spokój, gdy lodowa księżniczka Pucciniego domaga się głów swoich zalotników! Wystawna inscenizacja późnego arcydzieła Pucciniego autorstwa Franco Zeffirellego wypełnia Arenę di Verona atmosferą starożytnego Pekinu.
„Nikt nie będzie spał” – cytując słowa najsłynniejszej arii operowej, Nessun dorma Calafa, gdy ciemność zapada nad starożytnym amfiteatrem, a tysiące świec zostają zapalone, tworząc magiczną atmosferę pasującą do świetlistej partytury Pucciniego.
„Turandot” to ostatnia opera Pucciniego, niedokończona w chwili jego śmierci w 1924 roku. Opera została ukończona przez Franco Alfano na podstawie szkiców i szkiców Pucciniego, chociaż czasami wykonywane są również inne wersje. Podobnie jak w przypadku „Madama Butterfly”, kompozytor eksploruje orientalną tonację, a zarówno muzyka, jak i fabuła odzwierciedlają trwałe zainteresowanie egzotyką, które ogarnęło Europę Zachodnią pod koniec XIX i na początku XX wieku. Fabuła oparta jest na historii zimnej, bezdusznej księżniczki Turandot z perskiej „Księgi tysiąca i jednej nocy”. Ta tragiczna opowieść o miłości i stracie miała swoją premierę w Mediolanie w 1926 roku, gdzie opera została wystawiona w wersji niedokończonej, aby uczcić pamięć kompozytora.
Akt 1
Zakazane Miasto w Pekinie, Chiny. Księżniczka Turandot, kobieta o wielkiej urodzie, ale o sercu zimnym jak lód, stawia swoim zalotnikom trzy zagadki. Nieudana odpowiedź skutkuje karą śmierci. Egzekucja nieudanego księcia porusza tłum. Wśród tłumu stoi pokonany król Tatarów, Timur. Stary król ponownie spotyka swojego dawno zaginionego syna, księcia Calafa. Calaf zakochuje się w Turandot od pierwszego wejrzenia i przysięga, że odpowie na jej trzy zagadki. Niewolnica Timura, Liu, próbuje powstrzymać jego lekkomyślną decyzję, ale jego determinacja tylko się wzmaga.
Akt 2
Turandot pojawia się i zaczyna zadawać Calafowi trzy zagadki, a Calaf udziela na nie poprawnych odpowiedzi. Turandot jest wściekła i odmawia poślubienia go. Calaf proponuje wymianę – jeśli Turandot dowie się, jak ma na imię przed świtem, odda swoje życie.
Akt 3
Turandot nakazuje, aby nikt nie spał, dopóki ktoś nie dowie się, jak ma na imię tajemniczy książę. Liu zostaje pojmana i torturowana. Turandot pyta Liu, dlaczego nie chce wyjawić imienia księcia. Liu odpowiada, że siłę daje jej miłość do Calafa, po czym odbiera sobie życie.
Turandot pozostaje sama, aby stawić czoła Calafowi. Calaf wyjawia swoje imię. O świcie Turandot ogłasza swoje zwycięstwo. Ogłasza tłumowi: „Nazywa się… Miłość”. Turandot i Calaf biorą ślub.

the voices of the characters are not loud enough sometimes, not the choirs. Music was perfect. The intermissions are not long enough for the huge public. Perhaps by 5 or 10 minutes more. Thank and congratulations

Einfach fantastisch. Sehr gute Organisation. Tolle Schow, Atmosphäre. Ich würde beim nächsten Mal preiswertere Sitze nehmen auf den Steinen und ein Kissen mitnehmen. Unsere Sitze waren super unbequem und eng.

Fabulous venue. I went to Aida about thirty years ago in the cheap seats and returned with wife and daughter to the stalls for Turandot. More comfortable and even more soectacular. I hope it's less than thirty years for the next visit!

Es ist ein phantastisches Erlebnis. Atmosphäre in der Arena, das grandiose Bühnenbild mit einer Ausstattung, die begeistert Die Qualität der Solisten, vor allem auch des Chores und des Orchesters waren eine Freude. Alles in allem, sehr zu empfehlen!

spectacle grandiose, mise en scène superbe ! un seul bémol : dommage que les agents des arènes ne fassent pas respecter l interdiction de prendre des photos ou filmer pendant le spectacle. Nous avons été vraiment gênés pas la lumière des téléphones portables pendant le spectacle … certaines personnes préfèrent voir le spectacle à travers un écran …. c est dommage pour eux et gênant pour les autres …malgré tout , nous ne regrettons pas d'être venus d'Aix en Provence juste pour voir cet opéra!!!!
