The Troubadour: Deutsche Oper Berlin
O wydarzeniu
Experience Verdi's opera which is said to be the first step from ballad opera to musical theater of the 20th century.
'The Troubadour' is one of Verdi’s best‐loved and most performed operas. The world premiere of the work, which sets the tender yet heroic love story between Leonora and her troubadour Manrico against the bleak backdrop of 15th‐century Spain, was a personal triumph for the composer and marked the end of his “spell in the galleys”. The opulent melodies, the meridional colors of the music and the intimacy of the arias, particularly Leonora’s, achieve a depth that far exceeds that inherent in the bel canto sound.
Sung in Italian with English and German surtitles
