Discover Rachmaninoff's early opera, "Aleko", performed in concert at the Budapest Spring Festival. The program begins with pianist Shai Wosner, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3.
Rachmaninoff composed his first opera, "Aleko", while still a student at the Moscow Conservatory. With it, he broke from the stylistic standards set by Richard Wagner. The Hungarian National Philharmonic will perform the opera in a concert version under the baton of Zoltán Kocsis.
