Winner of countless awards, Petrozavodsk State University Academic Choir performs folk songs and Russian composer works in the beautiful Basílica de Santa María del Mar, in Barcelona.

A mixed choir from one of the leading universities in northwestern Russia, the Petrozavodsk State University Academic Choir celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. Its repertoire includes Russian popular songs and Russian religious, classical and contemporary music, plus works by foreign and Karelian composers. It was the first Russian ensemble to perform works by foreign composers and contemporary jazz choral music.

During its 50 years of existence the choir has performed in many countries and has won countless awards in various national and international festivals.
